Direct Reading of Passenger Information from the ID

Requirement for Collecting Personal Information via UETDS and Efficient Ticketing Solution with abfGO.

When we look at our new IDs and passports, they contain an MRZ (Machine Readable Zone) code. The Turkish explanation is that it means “a region that can be read by a machine.”

Our personal information is contained within this code and can be read with specialized software and hardware.

In the abfGO ticketing system, we can sell tickets integrated into our mobile application using MRZ codes. Similarly, when storing baggage information, we can collect identity details. This eliminates the need for manual entry of incorrect information and identity verification.

Looking at the MRZ code, it includes Name, Surname, Country, Document Type, Document Number, Date of Birth, Nationality, Gender, Expiry Date, and Identity Number. You can review this information from the sample image.

The character type, number of characters, and character size used in preparing the MRZ code are standardized worldwide. Generally, with the implementation of UETDS (Transport Electronic Tracking and Supervision System), the requirement for recording passenger and passenger baggage has been established, necessitating the collection of identity information for both foreign nationals and Turkish citizens. The abfGO ticketing and Baggage Tracking System allows us to complete transactions quickly and avoid possible errors.

When looking at the hardware sold for MRZ reading, reading times range from 3-4 seconds, while with the help of the application, you can achieve a reading speed of up to 1 second, allowing you to complete transactions quickly either at counters or in the field.
